Respect Our Animals
Please treat the Zoo’s animals with the respect they deserve. Remember, the animals act naturally and are easier to see in a calm environment, so please do not yell, chase, or tease them. . DO NOT throw any objects at the animals or into their habitats.
Our truck and trailer are 50 feet long. To unload our animals and setup we need to have sufficient clearance pull in, and park as close as possible to the location. No blocking driveways! Please arrange for that prior to your party. If parking is not close and it takes us more time to unload, you will be billed for extra time, and trouble. Please be aware that if we do not have the proper space for this, it will cause safety issues for animals, and people attending.
We reserve the right to leave the party or event, if these conditions are not met.
Weight Limits-We have horses that allow for all weights, sizes or horse/cart. Just let us know what you need. We have a miniature horse that children may ride. The weight limit may not exceed 65 lbs. We also have Shetland Ponies to ride, depending on the size of the pony; weight limit may not exceed 85 lbs. Please make sure you order the right size of horse, we will turn children away if they are too large to ride.
At a birthday party we do not hitch a pony to a carousel; our handler always walks the pony. This provides added security for the child and also means that we are interacting with the child during their ride, this provides an educational advantage as the children are in direct contact with the handler and are free to ask any questions regarding the pony's care and training. Even though we are there interacting with the child, the very young should always have a parent walk with them. Children under two must be accompanied by an responsible adult (other than our staff) when child is riding.
Care is taken at all times to ensure the safety of both the children and the animals. Utah Pony Party handlers are careful to instruct children on how to behave near and on the ponies and petting zoo animals. Here is a general guideline to help you instruct your guests.
